2 faculty development opportunities offered by International Studies Consortium

Two faculty development opportunities are being offered in the next few weeks by the Nine University and College International Studies Consortium of Georgia.

  • The Conference on Social Movements Across the Globe: Mobilizing Students, Citizens and Ideas will be held Friday, March 6, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Room 203, Clayton State University Continuing Education Center. The registration deadline for this conference is Friday, Feb. 21. No more than 6 faculty members from Middle Georgia State will be accepted to attend. The conference will focus on pedagogy, i. e., how to integrate interdisciplinary and international perspectives — comparisons, examples, illustrations, ideas, techniques etc. — into undergraduate general education and other courses in the following areas:  social sciences, humanities, education and business.  Registration is free for faculty members of consortium schools and refreshments, lunch and educational material expenses will be covered by Middle Georgia State College and the Consortium. It is requested that our group travel in one or two cars only. Round trip mileage or the cost of rental car, whichever is cheaper, will be reimbursed. If interested in attending please contact Dr. Pam Bedwell, who will pass along the names and email addresses of our 6 participants to Rajgopal Sashti, Director of the International Education/Nine University and College International Studies Consortium of Georgia.
  • Faculty Development in International Business, March 19-21, at the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business. A total of 50 slots are available for colleges in the consortium, so it is suggested no more than four faculty members from our institution. The consortium will cover round trip surface travel based on State of Georgia approved rates. They request that representatives from each campus car pool. Details of the program can be found at this link.  For additional information, call Rajgopal Sashti at 404-550-4805.
