2018 Convocation Update – Chancellor Steve Wrigley to Address Convocation

Dear Faculty & Staff:

I hope your summer months have begun well and that the Georgia sunshine will return soon.

I want to remind you that Faculty and Staff Convocation will take place on Monday 6th August on our Macon campus, in the Recreation & Wellness Center.  This year we will be providing group transportation by van or bus from each of our other campuses.  We will also continue the tradition of “bookending” the Convocation schedule with a continental breakfast (available from 8:00 am in the Rec Center) and a picnic lunch in the Student Life Center at 12:30 pm.  Return transportation to the other campuses will take place after lunch.  Please also be reminded that Convocation is mandatory for all full-time employees, with only limited emergency and police personnel exempted.

One major new element of this 2018 Convocation is the exciting news that Chancellor Steve Wrigley has graciously agreed to join us for the whole assembly part of Convocation, and the Chancellor will address us at the start of the morning’s program.  We are very fortunate to have Chancellor Wrigley be with us and to hear him outline his priorities for the USG for this coming year and help us consider how Middle Georgia State University can best support the Chancellor’s vision and the USG’s goals.

Further details and the agenda for Convocation will be issued in the coming weeks, so please check your email for further updates.  Please also feel free to contact my assistant, Carey Wimberly, if you have questions in the meantime.

Best regards,

Chris
