Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Deadlines

A reminder that deadlines are approaching for students interested in receiving and/or recertifying for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits under the COVID-19 pandemic exemptions. For students applying for SNAP for the first time you have until June 9, 2023 to submit your initial application to still be considered under the COVID-19 exemptions. If you are currently on SNAP and your certification period ends in April, May, or June you have until July 1, 2023 to complete your recertification application to be considered under the COVID-19 exemptions. More information on SNAP and the application process if provided below.

Qualifications for SNAP benefits under the COVID-19 exemptions*:

Students must be enrolled at least half-time and

  1. Meet the SNAP income eligibility requirements and either
  2. Meet eligibility requirements to participate in a State or federally financed work study program during the school year or
  3. Have an expected family contribution (EFC) of $0 in the current academic year.

*This does not include a list of all SNAP qualifications just the qualifications that are about to expire.
