Office of Campus Culture & Community: March is Women's History Month

March is Women's History Month and March 8 is International Women's Day! Each year, communities across the nation celebrate Women's History Month with a variety of events, educational programs, and community service opportunities.

On Wednesday, March 6, at 4 p.m., the Office of Campus Culture & Community and the Office of Student Life, Eastman Campus will host their annual Women's History Month Trailblazers event with MGA alum Haley Jo Lucas, the first female helicopter pilot in the Georgia State Patrol's Aviation Division! This event is free and open to the public! Weather permitting, Lucas will fly in on her GSP helicopter about an hour before the event and allow guests to explore the aircraft.

As their website is being updated, you can find a more robust list of 2024 Women's History Month celebrations and other resources on the Office of Campus Culture & Community events page-one of several places where the office promotes events that support a welcoming, supportive campus culture and community! Please check back often as the events page continues to be updated!

Spring semester also brings Earth Day in April, Asian Pacific American History Month in May, and a host of other days of celebration and education. Please let the office know if your department, unit, or group will host events that support and promote engagement across our campus community at any time during the Spring semester.

You may submit your upcoming events via the Campus Events Submission Form or via email directly to the office at campusculture@mga.edu.
