Join the Georgia Partnership and the Dublin-Laurens County Chamber of Commerce for the Economics of Education: Strengthening the Birth to Work Pipeline Regional Summit on Wednesday, April 24 at 7:30 a.m. The regional summit will include a panel of local leaders discussing the successes, challenges and opportunities in our community.  

"The event will kick off with an exploration of education and workforce trends in Georgia through the Georgia Partnership's renowned Economics of Education presentation. Then, hear from local leaders in an engaging panel discussion on the successes, challenges, and opportunities in the community. Additionally, learn about the 'Workforce Project,' an innovative community initiative in Thomasville aimed at enhancing economic development. During a panel discussion, local leaders will share their experiences, successes, and the reasons behind this impactful project. This event aims to inspire reflection and discussion, laying the groundwork for future collaboration and action towards strengthening the birth-to-workforce pipeline."

The panel will include:

  • Childcare Early Learning - Dee Harrell (Intelli-Kids Learning Center)
  • Dublin Housing Authority - Michael Maffett (Curry Maffett Insurance)
  • Education - Clifford Garnto (Laurens County Schools), Dr. Fred Williams (Dublin City Schools), Erica Harden (Oconee Fall Line Technical College), Dr. David Biek (Middle Georgia State University)
  • Industry - Don Avery (Fairview Park Hospital)
