Knights, as we approach the end of the semester, many of us are looking forward to rest, celebration, and time with loved ones. But when our campuses close for the holidays, so do our dining halls—and for many MGA students who rely on these services, that can mean sudden food insecurity during what should be a joyful season.
That’s why Middle Georgia State University is proud to join Swipe Out Hunger’s “Hunger Doesn’t Take Breaks” campaign. MGA was selected by Swipe Out Hunger and Parcel Pending by Quadient to help shine a light on college food insecurity during holiday closures. According to The Hope Center (2025), 41% of undergraduate students experience food insecurity—a reality we’re committed to changing.
At MGA, the Knights’ Table’s mission is simple: end hunger on all our campuses by ensuring students have the resources they need to thrive. From Nov. 17 to Dec. 2, we’re asking for your support to raise awareness and cast your vote for MGA. The school with the most votes will receive a refrigerated locker, allowing students to access meals even when campus is closed.
Let’s show the MGA community that Knights stand for year-round food access and student support. Your vote can help bring this vital resource to campus! Remember, you can vote daily!
In addition to voting, you can also:
Let’s work together to make this holiday season safe, nourishing, and supportive for every Knight.
Let’s show them that Knights slay hunger – and everyone deserves a seat at our table!
