On May 13, 2019, the Division of Student Affairs hosted its 5th annual Student Affairs Conference. This year’s program included:
- “Welcome and Remarks” by President Blake
- “Student Affairs Lives Matter” led by Corey Guyton, Director of Student Engagement
- “Health Healthy on the Go” led by Christina Caro, Sodexo Regional Dietician & Wellness Manager
- “Divisional Updates” by department directors
Following the program and lunch, they had their annual Greatness Awards which recognizes greatness within Student Affairs. Members of the Division of Student Affairs nominate their colleagues for these awards. This year’s winners are:
Unsung Hero Award – James Hagler
This award recognizes a “behind the scenes” individual who consistently and effectively performs his or her duties in a manner that enhances the work environment for others.
Extra Mile Award – Diane Goodman
The award recognizes an individual who consistently goes that “extra mile” to provide exemplary service to students.
Friend of the Division Award – Ryan Greene
This award recognizes an individual from outside the Division whose extraordinary contribution has enriched the lives of students and made an impact on Student Affairs at MGA.
New Professional Award – Melissa Skolnick
This award recognizes an individual with 1-3 years of professional experience who has consistently exceeded the responsibilities of his or her position in a way that enhances the experience for students.
Distinguished Leadership Award – Brian Harrell
This award recognizes an individual in the Division who has demonstrated exceptional leadership to improve Student Affairs at MGA.
