On Thursday, November 8th, The Office of Career Services and the Office of Alumni Affairs debuted their “Voices of Impact” Lecture Series with guest speaker, Dr. Vernard Hodges. Dr. Hodges shared his amazing journey detailing the circumstances he was born into and the choices he made as an adolescent, which almost led him down the wrong path. He also shared how he was able to shift his values and goals, which led to him successfully starting up multiple business ventures, such as starting a real estate holding company which has grown into a multi-million dollar company consisting of several apartment complexes and commercial properties.

The Legacy of Leadership award recognizes an individual, persons or group who has given exemplary service to Middle Georgia State University (MGA) and the Foundation. It is the highest honor that the MGA Foundation bestows. The Outstanding Alumnus award is given to selected alumni who have distinguished themselves academically, professionally, or through community involvement – and achieve positions of influence and regional or national reputation.
