Alan Clark, Middle Georgia State’s director of bands, spent many years in the military at Robins Air Force Base. Since he retired, he’s spent his days teaching music at our Cochran Campus.
Now, he’s been asked to return on for a command performance at the Museum of Aviation.
As a major in the Air Force, Dr. Clark was stationed at Robins Air Force Base from January 1996 to June 2004 as the Air Force Reserve Command’s Band Commander. He’s been invited to return to the museum — to the Century of Flight hangar, the same building where his change of command ceremony was held when he left RAFB — to conduct the Wellston Winds for their Independence Day concert, to be held at 7 p.m. on July 1.
It’s a nice honor, and surely the visit will refresh many pleasant memories for Dr. Clark.
