Interdisciplinary Film Event: “Cinema Paradiso”
6 PM, Tuesday, February 20, 2018
Math Auditorium (Macon Campus)
Presented by The Office of Diversity, The Department of Media, Culture, & the Arts, and by The Interdisciplinary Film Series
MGA faculty, students, and the off-campus community are cordially invited to this semester’s Interdisciplinary film event on the 20th of February at 6 PM in the Math Auditorium. “Cinema Paradiso,” a heartwarming blockbuster from Italy, has received highly enthusiastic reviews from critics and audiences from all over the world. Professor Lauren Cater, who teaches film at MGA, will share her expertise as she will give an introduction and lead the post-film discussion. Together with the people of a small town Italy, experience the very human and universal emotions of joy, sadness, and nostalgia, as the film relives the history of Cinema Paradiso. This will be a rare opportunity to see this strongly, strongly recommended cinematic gem on a huge HD screen.
Free and open to the public. A trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stLekU5BnbI.
Refreshments will be served while they last. Many thanks to Ms. Jenia Bacote (Director of Diversity, Inclusion, & Equity), Dr. Jennifer Brannon (Vice President for Student Affairs) and Dr. Robert McTyre (Chair, Dept. of MCA) for sponsoring this meaningful, multidisciplinary, and diversity-driven event.
