INTERNAL POSITION: Campus Store – Textbook Coordinator, Macon Campus

This position is responsible for ordering all required textbooks and class materials for students on all five campuses. Knowledge and skills required by the position include: knowledge of WinPrism software and the book entering process; knowledge of book buyback policies and procedures; knowledge of Campus Stores and MGSC policies and procedures; skill in decision making and problem solving; skill in interpersonal relations and customer service; and skill in verbal and written communication.

MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Responsible for acquiring requisitions from the schools on all five campuses to order textbooks and materials for students
  • Communicates effectively with instructors and department secretaries to insure ample time for the ordering and receiving process
  • Processes and generates returns to send unsold merchandise back to publishers and used book companies
  • Oversees and trains other employees in the book buyback process
  • Organizes and sets shelves for each new semester
  • Responsible for opening/closing the store and operating a cashier as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum six months experience in a college/university bookstore
  • Ability to work independently
