Amy Winfrey, an #MGA graduate who is now assistant director of Library Services on the Warner Robins and Dublin campuses, recently presented her research at the American Library Association Midwinter Conference in Seattle on information seeking and sharing behaviors of LGBTQ+ students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Her research originated in 2017 when she worked at Atlanta University Center Woodruff Library. Along with a colleague, Winfrey gathered information from interviews and focus groups consisting of Morehouse College and Spelman College students who identified as members of the LGBTQ+ community. She and her colleague are working on an article about their research that they plan to publish in a scholarly journal.
Winfrey earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History from MGA and went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from Valdosta University.
