MGA Health Clinic Offer Some Summer Health Tips

Summer weather is in full swing, and the MGA Health Clinic would like to remind you of the importance of hydration and heat protection! Be mindful of your water intake, with a daily intake of at least 64 ounces (8 full glasses or 4 regular-sized bottles) depending on time spent outdoors, physical condition, and exertion. The American Heart Association notes that adequate hydration helps to prevent overworking the heart and is an important part of avoiding heat stroke (2014).

Call 911 right away if you experience these symptoms:

  • High fever (above 104 degrees F)
  • Hot, dry, red skin
  • Fast, weak pulse
  • Fast, shallow breathing
  • Irrational behavior or extreme confusion
  • Seizure or unconsciousness
