MGA Respiratory Therapy Students Receive National Recognition

Middle Georgia State University (MGA) students majoring in respiratory therapy recently received an honorable mention in a national video contest sponsored by the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).

The contest was designed to encourage classes of RT students to create short videos promoting the field of respiratory therapy without specifically branding the colleges or universities they attend. One winner and one honorable mention were chosen from among all entries.

MGA’s video will be showcased at AARC’s national convention in November. The annual convention, to be held this year in New Orleans, brings respiratory therapists, various healthcare providers, and vendors from all over the world together.

All 19 MGA students currently majoring in respiratory therapy had a hand in the creation of the video, called “One Breath at a Time.” The students are Jessica Brown, Matthew Crockett, Jasmine King, Kiana Lindsay, Just McNair, Chelsei Poole, Brianna Purnell, Monya Thomas, Jasmine Allen, Ashley Appiah, Pamela Bell, Hannah Coleman, Destiny Dean, Courtney Dixon, Danielle Marrone, John Quayson, Ashley Wallace, Mi’Kela Walker, and Jacob Whatley.
