Career Services Host An Etiquette Dinner

Mind Your Manners Etiquette Dinner was hosted as a joint collaboration between Career Services, the Peer Career Advisors Club, and Sodexo.  A total of 48 students and 3 employers attended.  The event was held in the Presidents Dining Room on the Cochran campus.  Mr. Henry Whitfield (Cochran and Eastman Campus Director), Ms. Felicia Rogers (Catering Director), Dr. Melinda Moffett (Director of Career Services) served as facilitators. Career Services Participates in the Spring 2018 GACE Statewide Career Fair
 

Eleven (11) students, one faulty, and two staff members were provided free transportation from the MGA Macon campus to the Cobb Galleria in Atlanta to attend the largest career fair in the state of Georgia.  On April 18th over 100 employers and universities assembled to provide info on full-time, part-time, internship, and co-op opportunities located across the state.  As an institutional member of GACE (Georgia Association of Colleges and Employers) students, graduates, faculty, and staff of MGA may attend this event each semester.  The next statewide career fair will take place on Nov. 14, 2018.  Interested persons may RSVP by emailing Dr. Melinda Moffett, Director of Career Services, at melinda.moffett@mga.edu.

 

 Career Services Host the Aviation Career Fair

On March 29th, students, faculty and staff greeted nearly 30 employers hoping to connect with jobs seekers at the Middle Georgia State University Eastman School of Aviation Spring Career Fair.   This event is one of several professional development programs hosted by the university’s Office of Career Services each semester.  Over 160 attendees networked with representatives from Gulfstream, NAVAIR, PSA Airlines, SkyWest Airlines, ExpressJet, Endeavor Air, Silver Airways, Republic Airline, Piedmont Airlines, Mesa Airline, GoJet Airlines, Trans States Airlines, Air and Marine Operations, GE Aviation, Stambaugh Aviation, Mission Aviation Fellowship, Marine Officer Program, Georgia Department of Labor, Georgia Department of Community Supervision, United States Air Force, Central Georgia Technical College, and four hiring units from the Robins Air Force Base (Aircraft Maintenance, Maintenance Support, Human Resources, Commodities Maintenance).  Several employers, including Gulfstream and PSA Airlines, conducted interviews and extended job offers on site. The next aviation career fair is scheduled for November 1st and will be open to students, graduates, and community members at no charge.  Recruiters are encouraged to register by contacting Dr. Melinda Moffett, Director of Career Services, at melinda.moffett@mga.edu
