Sexual Assault Awareness Month Week 4
Participate in SAAM activities this week by participating in Denim Day and stopping by one of our Table Talks. Share how you are continuing the conversation around consent and sexual violence on Twitter with #KnightsAsk #IAsk.
Table Talks will be in Eastman Wednesday and Dublin Thursday this Week. Be sure to stop by the table and chat with Jenia Bacote, Director of Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity/Title IX Coordinator. Learn more about the sexual misconduct policy and Title IX on the MGA website here. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Denim Day is this Wednesday, April 24, 2019. MGA faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to participate by wearing denim to raise awareness about sexual violence and make a statement that sexual violence is never the victim/survivor’s fault. Denim Day was started after a court in Italy overturned a rape conviction based on the argument that the sex had to be consensual because the victim was wearing jeans. Both men and women experience sexual violence and it is everyone’s responsibility to learn the facts, take steps to prevent the occurrence of sexual violence, and hold perpetrators accountable. Join us at Georgia Hall in Cochran on Wednesday to paint messages and artwork on a pair of jeans and learn more!
