In 2009, shortly after taking a faculty position in the English department of what is now Middle Georgia State University, Dr. Shane Trayers founded the Macon Writers Group to create a community for writers living in the region. This past January, the Macon Writers Group celebrated its 10th anniversary with a party and the publication of the anthology, Discover Why I’ve Led You Here.
Arts Festival 2018 is wrapping up this week with our last two events. Mark your calendars and come out and meet the owner of Ampersand Guild located in downtown Macon. Business owner and artist, Daniel Montoute will present a talk and an art demonstration on both the Cochran and Macon campuses.
Local artists are invited to submit their work for an exhibit to be hosted by Middle Georgia State University’s Gay-Straight Alliance, a student organization, at Ampersand Guild in downtown Macon on October 16.
