Over Memorial Day Weekend, Laura Gay and David Sims in Plant Operations presented at the Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers Annual Conference on Jekyll Island.
We recently learned that past efforts to educate our campus community about the water quality on the Cochran Campus—where lead levels were slightly elevated last year but are now back down below federal (EPA) and state (GA EPD) standards—were insufficient. Even though we are currently in compliance, Middle Georgia State is working with experts to further improve water quality.
You may have noticed facilities improvements in the works around the university recently. Most of these projects were funded by the Major Repair & Rehabilitation funds awarded to us each year to maintain our campuses.
