MACON, GA – The Magnolia Soap Box Derby will be celebrating the tenth year of the event (#DerbyDecade) on Saturday, April 14th, 2018 in downtown Macon. The race will take place on the Magnolia Street by Washington Park.
The derby car racing will begin at 11a and last until 4p. Racing takes place in three classes: Gravity Racing Challenge, Shadetree & Professional.
The Magnolia Soap Box Derby is one of the nation’s largest soap box racing event, attracting around 5,000 visitors annually.
In addition to derby racing, the event features food trucks, a live DJ, performances & STEM educational demos.
Macon’s film community kicks off 2018 with the 20th annual College Town Film Series, opening Jan. 25 at the historic Douglass Theatre in downtown Macon.
