Alexis Brown, an #MGA junior pursuing the Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Musicianship, recently won the Percussive Arts Society International Conference (PASIC) solo timpani competition in Indianapolis. Here she is with Dr. John Beck, professor emeritus from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y, who composed her competition solo. PASIC is the largest and most prestigious percussion conference in the world, so this is a tremendous accomplishment for Brown and her MGA instructor, Miguel Castro.
