President’s Torch Society member Clay Griggs wants to shape a career around marketing, communications, and improving social media.
Today, about 40 students based on the Cochran Campus are majoring in New Media and Communications. They take many of their upper-division courses from and are mentored by faculty member Rebecca Edwards, who brings real-world film and TV industry experience to the classroom.
Dr. Andre Nicholson, assistant professor of New Media and Communications and Student Media coordinator, has published a book chapter titled “The Biased Truth: An Objective Perspective on Nonobjective News Reporting.” The chapter is part of the “Handbook of Research on Media Literacy in Higher Education Environments,” published in April 2018 through IGI Global.
MGA grad Alexandria Hughes is marketing coordinator for the Middle Georgia Regional Library.
Joining USAF Brig. Gen. Cedric George in addressing this year’s graduates will be Nadine Epperson, the 2015 President’s Scholar.
