In response to student and faculty interest in holding commencement ceremonies twice a year, as we prepare for University status, President Blake announces the first Fall Commencement Ceremony for Middle Georgia State!
Fall registrations are proceeding well! This week should see us surpass the 5,000 student mark. Keep up the great work in reaching out to our current students and assisting with new student advising, registration, and orientation. We are significantly up in new student and current student registrations compared to this same time last year so let’s keep this going…reminder that our fall enrollment goal is 3% above last year. Go T.E.A.M (Together Everyone Achieves More)!
As of June 15, 2015, we are -2% from our final USG Census date for Summer 2014. Census date this year is July 8, 2015 so these numbers may fluctuate a little over the next few weeks. Areas of growth include new transfers, new transient students and online course enrollments.
Nominations for the Middle Georgia State University Staff Council are still open! Nominations will close at 6pm on Monday, June 15, 2015 and elections will be held later in June.
President Blake shares the status of preparations less than one month from University status.
In only five weeks, Middle Georgia State will become Georgia’s newest public university! As a university, our external audiences will have higher expectations for us – including relying on our website information to be up-to-date. With another name and logo change, we should take this opportunity to review and update our web information. See checklist here…
