Important COVID Info from Student Affairs

Hello Knights –

We are excited to welcome you to Fall semester.  We have been working all summer to be ready for your return. Our safe return to campus relies on everyone – faculty, staff, and students – all taking responsibility so that we can continue to have a great campus experience.

Here are a couple more pieces of information for you before you arrive and fall begins:

Face covering are required inside all building on campus. You will see reminders of this on doors to buildings all over campus and in the syllabus of each of your classes. Outside of buildings – face coverings are not required but be aware of your social distancing.

  • We will be providing face coverings to students.
    • Residential Students – You will receive your face coverings when you move into your residence hall.
    • Commuter Students – You may pick your face coverings up at the following locations the first 2 days of class –  Wednesday and Thursday from – 7:30am – 5:30 pm.
      • Cochran – under the tent near Sanford Hall
      • Dublin – in the main lobby
      • Eastman – in the main lobby
      • Macon – in the lobby of the Jones Building

    • After Thursday, if you miss these opportunities, you can see the Student Life Coordinator on each campus to get your face covering.
  • Armour Up is our campus phrase to gently remind people to put on their face coverings.  Feel free to use Armour Up as a friendly reminder to those you come in contact with too.
  • Your participation is required. Please review the 9 responsibilities all MGA students in our Student Code of ConductIntegrity & Civility are the primary expectations of all Middle Georgia State University students.
  • Be mindful of yourself and others.

Visit the Campus Guidelines page on our coronavirus webpage. This site provides a bunch of information to answer all of your questions on what to do.

  • There is the Daily Wellness Check you can do each morning.  It’s a list of questions about how you are feeling for you to review before you leave each morning.
  • There is information on what to do – If you experience symptoms or test positive-.As soon as you begin showing symptoms, receive a positive test result, or have had close exposure to someone who has testing positive for COVID-19, you should report this information. Timely communication is really important for you and for others around you. Communicate this through the self-report form. Our Assessment & Care Team will follow up and work with you and your professors.
  • There is also information of where to get free testing in the communities around campus. You will see MGA falls within 2 health districts. Macon & Warner Robins are in the North Central Health District where Cochran, Dublin & Eastman are in the South Central Health District. The Health Department in Cochran has agreed to offer free testing to our students beginning on Wednesday, August 12th and every Wednesday morning afterwards until December 2nd. The location of the testing site will be on our Cochran campus in the parking lot of Browning Hall.   If you do not have transportation to get to a testing site, please contact our student health clinic.
