Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:
I am very happy to inform you that, after extensive considerations, I have authorized our Commencement Committee to make preparations for in-person Commencement Exercises for this Spring 2021, on our Macon campus. These will occur during the week of May 10th, 2021.
These will be modified from our former large-scale Commencement Exercises that occurred before the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, we shall use several smaller ceremonies with limited numbers, to comply with CDC guidelines and the Governor’s Health Emergency declaration.
Further details will be issued to the campus community later this week. I ask you each to wait patiently for those details before making any personal arrangements.
Our campus community – and especially our graduates – have missed out over the past year in celebrating our students’ accomplishments and graduations in-person. I am glad we can begin now to reclaim that experience in a modified format for our graduating Class of May 2021.
Thank you.
President Christopher Blake
