Three #MGA Honors Program students presented research at the Georgia Collegiate Honors Council Conference (GCHC), which was held virtually March 12-13. English major Sierra Stark Stevens, a junior, won “Best Humanities Paper” for her essay “Shakespeare’s Socioeconomics of Sack: Elizabethan vs. Jacobean.”

Also representing MGA were Eunice Chon, dual-enrollment student, who presented “Steve Biko and the Black Consciousness Movement: How Young Students Led the Fight Against Apartheid;” and Brenley Gunter, a freshman nursing major, who presented “Frederick Douglass: The Past, Present, and Future.”

Each year, approximately 100 students from college and university honors programs throughout Georgia present their research at GCHC. Dr. Clay Morton, director of the Honors Program at MGA, was conference co-chair this year, and he has served as state coordinator for GCHC since 2014.
