In order to ensure a safe environment for everyone, the Macon Recreation and Wellness Center will be sanitized in between each event. Masks will be required of all participants and guests. Masks will be provided for those who need one. Hand sanitizer stations will be available at all entry and exit points and graduate lineup.
Information on graduate lineup, graduate seating, and ticket pickup will be provided via the Registrar’s Office in the coming weeks. As a reminder, the Recreation & Wellness Center on the Macon campus will have a restricted capacity for each ceremony, and the limit of guests per graduate is two. This includes small children. Every guest must have a ticket. Each graduate’s set of tickets will be seated as a pair. There will be no extra tickets available for any ceremony.
In addition to fewer graduates at the ceremony, the ceremonies will look a little different than normal. Graduates will sit with their guests in “pod” style seating instead of traditionally sitting with their classmates. There will be smaller platform party. The college Deans will not be shaking hands with students but will be present as every graduating student is individually recognized as they walk across the stage. A professional photographer will take pictures of each graduate during the ceremony. An email detailing the procedure to order your photos from the photographer will be sent a few weeks after the ceremony.
Additional details will be emailed as plans continue to be finalized in the coming weeks. Enjoy your week!
Be well and go Knights!
