Tsavatewa Elected Chair of Macon-Bibb Board of Health

Chris Tsavatewa, Assistant Professor of Health Administration and Director of Institutional Effectiveness, was elected to the position of Chairman of the Macon-Bibb Board of Health at its March 15th meeting. Tsavatewa was appointed to the Board in 2014. In his roles as vice-chair and finance committee chair, he has spearheaded SPLOST infrastructure projects, strategic hiring, equity approaches, and numerous public health initiatives, including teen health, pedestrian safety, and environmental health improvements.

In February, Tsavatewa, who also has a background in palliative medicine, self-determination, and medical ethics, was appointed to the Ethics Committee of Atrium Health Navicent.
