From President Blake:
A new position of Special Assistant to the President for Institutional Excellence has been created to ensure our continued growth as a State University, now accredited by SACSCOC as a Level 5 institution. As we implement our post-COVID-19 Campus Presence Strategy, and see our strength in academic programming reach new levels of excellence with historically strong enrollment, it is imperative we maintain this trajectory.
This position is designed to support that goal. The Special Assistant position has been approved by the University System of Georgia through its Critical Hire Process, for implementation in FY22. As of now, this position is being posted internally, to elicit potential interest and applications from within our current faculty and staff who already have depth of experience and knowledge of MGA and its recent history. The Special Assistant will report directly to me as President, and will be a member of the Cabinet and the Office of President.
The job description is below. Interested applicants from qualified faculty and/or staff may submit in confidence a vita and a short letter of interest by 9:00AM on Monday 21st June to Vicky Smith (Vicky.smith@mga.edu) in the Office of Human Resources. Questions also may be directed to the Office of Human Resources.
The start date of the position is anticipated to be no later than August 1st, 2021.
