“K-Pop, BTS, & Beyond: The Traditional in the Modern” - October 6

“K-Pop, BTS, & Beyond: The Traditional in the Modern”

4 PM, Wednesday, October 6th, 2021

Math Auditorium (Macon Campus)

Presented by The Department of Media, Culture, & the Arts and The School of Arts & Letters

MGA faculty, students, and the off-campus community are cordially invited to “K-Pop, BTS, & Beyond” at 4 PM on the 6th of October in the Math Auditorium (Macon Camus). Dr. Yunsuk Chae will present music videos by popular K-pop and other indie bands with cultural commentary on the huge HD screen in the auditorium. In addition, Dr. Christian Kim (who teaches music at MGA) and his band will play a few k-pop songs! With the rise of K-pop (Korean popular music) and the increasing interest in the Korean language and the overall K-Culture, this presentation would be a fun, informative opportunity for the MGA and the off-campus community to experience the music in its cultural context.

Free and open to the public. PG-13.

For more information, contact Dr. Yunsuk Chae: yunsuk.chae@mga.edu or (478) 471-5797. See, also, the attached poster.

Mask wearing strongly encouraged.

We look forward to seeing you at the event!
