When she was 10 years old, Lauren Cater began to take care of her mother, who had had an accident that left her paralyzed from the chest down. Now an assistant professor film at MGA, Cater has produced a documentary film, “Daniel & Nate,” that explores the issue of children serving as caretakers for other family members. The film has been featured at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival and the Miami Film Festival.
