On February 26, MGA's Department of Natural Sciences hosted a regional Science Olympiad tournament for regional high school students. Seven schools and nearly 100 high school students competed as teams in 23 different science-related events. The events, which are similar to an academic track meet, covered a variety of scientific activities. Students competed in events ranging from designing experiments to decrypting coded messages and firing a catapult. Thirty of the students will go on to represent central Georgia at the state-level competitions in April.
The event was organized by Dr. Larry Camarota and Dr. Chris Hornung. They appreciate all of their colleagues who assisted in supervising this fun community event!
