Dept. of Teacher Education & Social Work Unveils "Wall of Fame"

On the evening of March 31, MGA's Department of Teacher Education and Social Work held a reception to unveil the department’s “Wall of Fame.” This event was an “Alumni Spring Fling” event sponsored by the MGA Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations.

Located in the entryway of the department, the wall has two rows featuring photos of notable graduates from the department. 

The top row features permanent pictures of noteworthy graduates of the Department of Teacher Education and Social Work, they include finalists for District “Teacher of the Year.”

The second row is for teachers who have been awarded “Teacher of the Year” at their respective schools. Last year, eleven MGA grads earned the “Teacher of the Year” honor.

Martha (Marti) Venn, Ph.D., Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs for the University of Georgia’s Board of Regents, gave opening remarks. Venn was the first dean of the education program and former MGA provost. Her picture leads off the top row of the “Wall of Fame.”
