Dr. Lorraine Dubuisson and MGA's English department recently hosted the 2022 edition of Knight Writers, an enrichment program that brings Bleckley County High School freshmen taking honors English to MGA's Cochran Campus for a day of instruction in poetry followed by a writing marathon.
Assisting Dubuisson this year were Dr. Mary Christian, assistant professor of English, and Ann Williams, MGA assistant director of library services. MGA students Nicholas Kirkpatrick and Desmond Schletty also helped out. Kirkpatrick and Schletty assisted the high school students with writing assignments about a variety of poems, "Harlem" by Langston Hughes and "Song of Myself" by Walt Whitman. Students made word art poems based on "The Haunted Palace" by Edgar Allan Poe.
