Faculty from the Department of Information Technology’s Center for Software Innovation (CSI) attended and presented at the Middle Georgia STEM City Expo held in the Museum of Aviation on Saturday, September 10th. The goal of the expo is to increase awareness among K-12 students, parents, and teachers about education and career opportunities in STEM-related fields. A variety of community partners in education, business, and industry participated in the event and shared the importance of preparation for STEM careers through various STEM-related hands-on activities and projects.
At the event, four IT faculty of MGA presented a low-cost, long-range wireless telecommunication technology combined with internet of things (IoT), machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI). Numerous K-12 students and their parents visited the MGA booth and experienced how wireless networks, machine learning, and AI technology can be utilized for a variety of applications in many different areas.
