Student Loan Debt Relief Info

The United States Department of Education announced three significant updates on August 24, 2022. We are sharing these updates as our students, alumni, staff, and faculty may be impacted. The updates are below.
  • The Department of Education will extend the Student Loan Pause until December 31, 2022 for a final time with payments resuming in January 2023.
  • A new student loan forgiveness program is being introduced which will forgive up to $20,000 for qualifying individuals who received Pell and $10,000 for qualifying individuals who did not receive Pell.
  • Additional changes to loan repayment plans

We continue to encourage our students, alumni, staff, and faculty who have utilized Federal student loans to research and understand the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program Waiver which ends on October 31, 2022.  Information regarding this program is available at https://studentaid.gov/announcements-events/pslf-limited-waiver
