Theatre at MGA: War Words

For Veterans Day 2022, Theatre at MGA is presenting a staged reading of War Words, by Michelle Kholos Brooks. NewYorkRep, the producers of this play, allow theatre companies and universities across the country to present the play royalties-free on Veterans Day as part of their War Words Initiative, a program to help civilians better understand what American servicemembers have experienced in Iraq and Afghanistan. This powerful and poignant play uses the real words of actual veterans interviewed by the playwright as its dialogue. The presentation includes MGA students and professors as well as local veterans and civilians. There will also be a post-show talkback for questions and comments from the audience.
Theatre at MGA's hope is to bring together the MGA, Bleckley County, and Middle Georgia Veterans communities to honor the service and sacrifice of US veterans. The event is free to the public.
