In a recent article, 41 NBC covered MGA and Macon-Bibb's Veterans Day ceremony at Coleman Hill. The event was held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 11. In addition to honoring all veterans, participants remembered the sacrifices of those made by the 151st Machine Gun Battalion, 42nd Rainbow Division, members of which lost their lives during World War I. The ceremony took place at the Coleman Hill monument established in memory of those battalion members located at 285 Spring Street.
"President of Middle Georgia State University, Christopher Blake, says the ceremony is just a token of their appreciation for all that veterans have done and continue to do.
'I feel very honored, very touched and moved,' he said. 'I hope that they leave knowing how much they are appreciated as are our current men and women in uniform.'"
