MGA Lego Tournament: Volunteers Needed - December 17

Please consider joining Dr. David Biek, dean of MGA's School of Education and Behavioral Sciences, on December 17 on the Dublin Campus as the School hosts its 5th Annual FIRST Lego League Regional Tournament - a robotics competition, LEGO building contest, and science fair rolled into one! Georgia has the most teams and most participants in the entire country. The tournament is such a popular STEAM-initiative that leadership (HQ is CEISMIC at Georgia Tech) is considering splitting Georgia into two sub-states!

Attendees have had a blast in previous years, and this year will be no different! So far, 36 teams from school districts around the region have already signed up for this year's tournament. MGA will be hosting the 36 4th-through-8th-grade teams this year (240+ students) hailing from nearly as many school districts in our region. This is a great way to get involved with our youth and to foster name recognition with our University.

MGA is in need of volunteers to assist at the tournament, but the biggest way individuals can help is to become a judge for the competition. Food will be provided. Family members and friends are also welcome. Those interested in volunteering should contact Dr. David Biek at david.biek@mga.edu.
