Coffee & Conversation with Dr. Kevin Cantwell

 

The Middle Georgia State University Library hosted Coffee & Conversation with Dr. Kevin Cantwell, in celebration of the launch of his new book of poetry, One Thousand Sheets Of Rice Paper, at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 6, on the second floor of the Macon Campus Library. At the event, Dr. Cantwell discussed his new book and read excerpts of his poetry. The event was free and open to the public.

A longtime MGA faculty member, Cantwell is the former dean of Graduate Studies and currently special assistant to the president. He holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Utah. Cantwell has published poems in The Paris Review, The New Republic, Poetry, Irish Pages, Metre, Commonweal, Shenandoah, and Five Points, for which he was winner of the James Dickey Poetry Prize. A Djerassi Resident Fellow, his most recent book is One of Those Russian Novels. Cantwell is currently editing a collection of letters by the American poet William Dickey.
