Macon Campus Scheduled Power Outage - June 2

The Macon Campus will experience a power outage on Friday, June 2, to replace the transformer at the Math Building and upgrade electrical components at the Volleyball Gym.

Not impacted:

• Lakeview Pointe, University Pointe, Recreation & Wellness, the Enrollment Center, Campus Police, along with a few isolated areas throughout the campus that have been identified
• Email

Impacted:

• VPN will be inaccessible.
• All buildings other than the ones mentioned above.

The outage should last about 12 hours on Friday; however, we are also replacing approximately 4,500’ of cable, and it is possible the conduit is damaged. Because of this unknown, the power outage may extend through Sunday, 6/4. If there are complications, MGA and Georgia Power have developed a backup plan to ensure the campus is operational as of Monday morning, 6/5.
