The MGA community is saddened by the passing of Dr. John Black, a former interim president of Macon State College who presided over that institution's consolidation with Middle Georgia College in 2013. The consolidated institution eventually became what we know today as Middle Georgia State University. Black had a distinguished career with the University System of Georgia, beginning as a member of the biology faculty at what is now Augusta University. He later served as president of East Georgia State College. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
