On Oct. 6, MGA was recognized at the Georgia Housing Officers Annual Conference held at Columbus State University. The Office of Housing & Residence Life, Student Success Center, and the Office of the Provost were awarded the Georgia Gee Whiz Award for their Academic Success Seminar.
The Academic Success Seminar was aimed at assisting students living in MGA residence halls who were on academic probation in spring 2023 to improve study skills, time management, campus engagement, and other topics. The program has grown from one section in spring 2023 to seven sections in fall 2023.
The Georgia Gee Whiz Award recognizes and honors excellence for an innovative program, project, or service sponsored by a housing or residence life department during the past year. The nominated program or initiative will demonstrate improvement in the quality of life for students, the efficiency in the department, and/or the effectiveness in service delivery.
