As part of the Talking Tech series at the Computer Museum of America in Roswell, GA, Ryan Ashford, an adjunct IT professor at Middle Georgia State University, presented his research into the history and features of the Commodore Amiga 2000, a computer that he bought in 2021 and restored to its original working condition.
The Amiga 2000 was launched in 1987 and was capable of advanced graphics, sound, and multitasking. Ashford repaired and enhanced the computer with a faster processor, more memory, a larger hard disk, and several expansion boards that enable it to perform video editing, run MSDOS and Windows, and emulate Atari ST and Macintosh platforms.
The Amiga 2000 is currently on loan to the Museum of Technology at MGA and can be reserved by contacting mot@mga.edu.
