Middle Georgia State University CyberKnights and the Association of Information Technology Students (AITS) teamed up to compete in the 10th Annual Azalea Health Hackathon at Valdosta State University on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 10 and 11.
The team of three students, Damian Allen, Coby Roye, and Cameron Rogers, along with their mentor, Dr. Alan Stines, spent two days developing and creating a hackathon solution to socially engage Azalea Health’s customers through an interactive gamification web-based application that helps reduce diabetes through nutrition and physical fitness tracking.
The students’ solution focused on reducing doctor’s time and office hours through collaborative learning. The application’s interactive dashboard showcases teams of like-minded individual’s progress. The dashboard concept allows doctors to create MOCC-style social feedback posts and peer-to-peer mentoring.
