With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the tragic passing of current MGA student Cody (Roper) Weathersbee on Monday, Dec. 11, 2023. Roper was the son of Ed Weathersbee, Associate Dean of the School of Aviation. Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 15 at Southerland Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be expressed online here.
Roper transferred from Georgia Southern University to MGA in the fall of 2022 and was initially enrolled in the Aviation Maintenance program before changing his major to Psychology. He was enrolled during the fall semester of 2023 and was registered for online psychology classes for the spring 2024 semester.
The MGA flag will be flown on all campuses for one week in memory of Roper. The flag will then be presented to the family as a symbol of respect and remembrance. A letter of condolence will also be sent to the family from the President’s Office.
