Gresco Hosts MGA IT Students for Drone Regulation and Co-Piloting

On Wednesday, February 22, Gresco hosted MGA IT students and Dr. Valerie Mercer, assistant professor in the School of Computing, to learn about unmanned aerial aircraft laws and regulations. Topics covered included pilot licensing requirements, thermal imaging, airspace security, UAS maintenance, and aerial mapping. Students also spent time co-piloting commercial drones at GRESCO, one of the Southeast's largest providers of commercial UAS/drones to the industries of construction, fire, insurance, land management, law enforcement, private security, and more.

Thank you to the GRESCO team for hosting MGA students for hands-on learning. View footage of the students in action as they co-pilot drones on the School of Computing Facebook page
