At its February 13, meeting, the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia approved Middle Georgia State University's (MGA) Master of Education and Instruction with a literacy focus. MGA plans to launch the new graduate degree program in the fall of 2024, pending approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
“MGA has over 500 alumni teachers, and many of them have expressed interest in a program like this,” said Dr. Rhonda Amerson, chair of MGA’s teacher education department. “There are thousands of certified teachers within MGA’s service region who could be eligible to enroll.”
