The 42nd annual Math Olympics was held by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Middle Georgia State University (MGA) on Friday, March 8. More than 160 high school students from 16 high schools in Georgia competed in the all-day event, and teams from Rockdale Magnet School captured first-place honors at both the varsity and junior varsity levels.
Schools participating included the Academy for Classical Education, Stratford Academy, and Tattnall Square Academy in Macon, Baldwin County, Echols County, Harris County, Lee County, Sumter County, Tift County, and Worth County High Schools, Lowndes and Valdosta High Schools, Valdosta, Bradwell Institute, Hinesville, Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology, Conyers, Veterans High School, Kathleen, Killian Hill Christian School, Lilburn. Trophies were awarded to the top three varsity and top three JV teams, while the top three individual finishers received plaques.
