Nearly 20 Knights who play baseball for MGA plan to play this summer for teams that fall under the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball umbrella. This includes five MGA players planning to spend at least a portion of the summer playing for the Macon Bacon, a member of the Coastal Plain League.
College baseball coaches often want their players to participate in “summer ball” to help them hone their skills and stay sharp. “We only send our guys to the best leagues and coaches,” said Sean Stevens, an assistant baseball coach for the Knights.
As of May 15, these players had been placed in various leagues:
