We are celebrating the Project SEARCH Class of 2024! Class members graduated on May 16 during a ceremony held at the School of Arts & Letters theater on MGA's Macon Campus.
Project SEARCH is a partnership between the Bibb County School District and MGA. A national program adopted by the school district several years ago, Project SEARCH helps young adults with developmental disabilities gain employable skills. Each fall, a new class of interns takes on various jobs at MGA, including working in catering and other food and beverage services with the University's dining vendor, Aladdin.
Throughout the academic year, Bibb County school district teachers provide additional instruction on topics that help the interns hone work abilities, such as interview skills, dress codes, team building, staying safe on the job, and handling money wisely. The goal is to help the interns get jobs by the time they finish the program or shortly after.
MGA is honored to be a Project SEARCH partner and we could not be more proud of this year's graduating class: Annemarie Carswell, Stephen Cotton, Airrion Ingram, Chase Kitchen, Irvin Roblero, Ashton Walker, and Rashawn Wright.
